SIU Investigator III:
Position involved the review, evaluation, and investigation of claim files to determine validity. Engaged in training to claims personnel and the agency sales force, to enhance their ability to recognize fraud indicators, and to improve their personal skills in handling potentially fraudulent claims. Maintained liaison with other insurance carriers and government agencies to increase effectiveness in information gathering. Specialized in fire cause determination, providing expert testimony in civil and criminal litigation. Retired from this position in January 2002.

Farmers Insurance Group, 1984 to 1986 Mercer Island, WA
SIU Investigator/Manager of Life Claims:
Employed within the Investigations Department for Farmers Insurance Group, assigned to manage claims investigations for three life companies on a worldwide basis. Areas of responsibilities included the establishment of office and staff, developing guidelines and operational procedures, and coordinating death investigations and internal affairs.

Owner and Manager – Private Investigation Firm:
Managed and maintained a private investigation firm engaged by the insurance industry to provide an investigation service on major claim losses. Supervised a staff of six investigators, covering a six-state area.

Lakewood Department of Public Safety, 1972 to 1979 Lakewood, CO
Initially hired as a lateral transfer police officer, and transferred to the Investigation Division in 1973, assigned major cases with a specialty in burglary and fire investigation.

Bellevue Police Department, 1970 to 1972 Bellevue, WA
Hired as a police officer and assigned to the Patrol Division for the entire period.
